Y’all got any more of them Wi-Fi codes?

For those who are still in school like myself, one of the biggest holidays that you look forward to during the spring semester would be SPRING BREAK! 7 days of pure bliss of not having to worry about any homework, nagging professors and boring lectures you already struggle to stay awake in. There are some who wants to party all 7 days and there are people like myself who wants to do absolutely nothing but relax.
Sure enough, that is what a few of the Cloud members did.

This spring break I did something I never thought I would do, camping. I take it back, it’s not really camping, more like glamping (glamour camping). We called it glamping because we stayed in a cabin that has its own little kitchenette, beds, bathrooms and most importantly when living in Texas, AC! So we were comfortable. I’m not ready for that tent life yet. However, we had NO WI-FI & CELLULAR RECEPTION.

I don’t think I’ve ever gone a full day without checking any of my social media, other than forgetting my phone at home while I was out and freaking out about it. I felt so naked without it. I truly thought I would be extremely bored on this trip because

  1. I’m not an outdoorsy type of girl
  2. I’ve never gone a full day without some sort of connection to the cyber world
  3. I’ve never gone camping before so I did not know what to expect
  4. I’m not an outdoorsy type of girl

But after this trip, it gave me a new perspective on things:

  • Life is too short to worry about impressing other people that you never see on a daily bases.
  • Electronics holds you back from enjoying the little things that surrounds you.
  • Long lasting memories are made when you don’t look at a screen, but rather at the person who’s in front of you.

I completely enjoyed my trip and believe it or not, AND I want to do it again. The drive alone was breathtaking, the scenery was so beautiful that no picture could ever bring it justice. You really do have to see it for yourself. I actually brought my kindle with me and read the entire trip outside on the porch. Sitting there and breathing in that fresh air was amazing. We sat in front of our little fire pit roasting marshmellows, exchanged stories, and played a super competitive game of UNO where you end up losing track of time, were some of the most memorable moments on the trip.

UNO! At FireFox Cabins

It really was a refreshing experience, and one that I am excited to do again.

Let me know:

What did you do for Spring Break? Any tips or recommendations that you have for me when I do decide to go camping for real?

Love, Sin Dee ♥
